What Is Overhaulin Application?
Overhaulin is a reality television show about cars that aired on TLC from 2004 to 2008 and then Discovery in 2012. The gang of Overhaulin, along with Chip Foose, produced custom-built machines for unsuspecting owners out of dilapidated vehicles. The show's premise was that viewers could submit requests for the cast to surprise them by overhauling a vehicle belonging to a loved one.
The unwary 'target' would be duped into participating in intricate schemes that included taking the victim's car, telling the victim that their car had been towed away by the police, and any other trick the cast could think up.
Overhaulin has been resurrected for a tenth season on MotorTrend On-Demand, which means you can apply for the show now. Continue reading to learn how to apply and what you need to apply.
The term target, victim, or mark refers to the individual whose car needs overhaulin.

How to Fill Out an Overhaulin Form?
Virtual or PDF applications are available, with the PDF version being about four pages long. There are three main portions to the form. The first section of the form requires information about the vehicle, including its history, associated issues, model, make, and year.
The second section is for the personal information of the mark (the person whose car needs overhauling). Fill in their name, address, age, DOB, sex, marital status, phone number, occupation, and anything else the section calls for.
The “accomplice,” or the individual who applies, is the subject of the third section. Applicants must provide their age, name, occupation, address, and the identities of any accomplices.
How Much Does It Cost to Be On Overhaulin?
The team factors in the expense of building the car into the show's budget in advance, and the finished product has a high value. What this means is you don’t have to pay a dime to get your car on Overhaulin. But there’s a catch
While the mark does not pay the same as the regular Joe on the street, they are still looking at a new car worth at least $50,000, and most are worth substantially more. This means you’ll need to pay for all federal, state, and local taxes during the application process.
Because no one can guarantee the fair market value of the finished work, applicants for any of these types of events should have thousands of dollars on hand before applying.
Who Can Apply to Overhaulin?
Anyone can apply to overhaulin. Getting selected, on the other hand, is a harder ball game.
A good tale that the audience can relate to is a requirement of getting picked for Overhaulin. Many of the marks seek assistance with antiques, either family heirlooms, rare collectibles, or otherwise treasured for sentimental reasons rather than monetary value.
When Overhaulin' works its magic on an automobile, its market value skyrockets, leaving the owner with a dilemma. Although the car has sentimental value, there is also a lot of money to be made by selling the new and improved version.
A good number of the contestants are ordinary working-class folks who see a chance to win tens of thousands of dollars at a car auction as too good to pass up for whatever value it had previously.
How Long Does It Take To Overhaul a Car?
The overhaul team had 8 days to complete whatever work they had to do on the mark’s car.
It is common knowledge that reality television isn't always as authentic as it appears, but Overhaulin' lived up to its promise.
The team have an eight-day deadline to completely remodel an antique car, which they had to meet.
To put things in perspective, this was accomplished by a whole crew of A-level designers and mechanics, including Foose himself, who worked nonstop around the clock.
It's such an incredible achievement that theories exist on whether such high-quality work could be completed within that time limit.
